The Erie Canal is always beautiful, but there's something different about seeing it in October — the maples along the towpath going gold and red, the air crisp, the pace unhurried. On Sunday, October 4, the Colonial Belle departs from Schoen Place in Pittsford for a 4-hour fall foliage cruise to downtown Rochester, passing through two locks on the Erie Canal and Genesee River. Live music from Teagan Ward and Tommy Formicola plays on the return, and a full autumn meal — corn chowder, apple-stuffed chicken, apple crisp — is served on board.
