America250 this Sunday — and the history beneath the village
This Sunday the village gathers to mark 250 years of American independence. It's worth pausing to hold two things at once: the America250 picnic on the canal, and Freedom Caverns — Pittsford's own chapter of the Underground Railroad, hidden for generations right beneath the surface. Both are part of the same long story.
