A Greener Way to Tackle Weeds — A Friendly Reminder

A Greener Way to Tackle Weeds — A Friendly Reminder
Here is a quick reminder of a simple homemade option for tackling unwanted weeds in sidewalk cracks, driveways, and other hardscape areas.
Simple Weed-Control Recipe:
- 1 gallon household white vinegar (5% acidity)
- 1 cup table salt
- 1 tablespoon liquid dish soap
Mix until the salt dissolves and apply directly to unwanted weeds on a dry, sunny day. A little goes a long way!
This mixture is non-selective and may damage grass, flowers, and other plants it contacts. Because salt can remain in the soil, keep the mixture away from lawns, gardens, tree beds, and areas where you want plants to grow in the future.
Think cracks and hardscapes, not gardens and lawns!
