Refuse & Recycling Reminder: Contact Casella First

Refuse & Recycling Reminder: Contact Casella First
A friendly reminder to Village residents that [Casella Waste Systems](/events/monroe-county-hazardous-waste-electronics-recycling-drive-through-collection) is our refuse and recycling service provider and should always be your first point of contact for service-related questions and requests.
Contact Casella directly at 585-823-3487 for assistance with:
- Tote swaps or upgrades – Request a different size or replacement container.
- Bulky item pickups – Arrange for the collection of larger household items.
- Service updates – Inquire about collection schedules, service interruptions, or holiday schedule changes.
If you experience a missed pickup, recurring collection issue, or any other service concern, please contact Casella directly AND complete the Village Refuse & Recycling Concern Form. While Casella remains your first point of contact for resolving service issues, submitting the Village's online form allows us to document, track, and monitor concerns, identify recurring problems, and follow up with Casella as needed. Your feedback helps us maintain reliable refuse and recycling services throughout the Village. Thank you for helping us keep Pittsford running smoothly!
DPW Updates: Fall Leaf & Yard Debris Reminder

DPW Updates: Fall Leaf & Yard Debris Reminder
Final Brush collection run is Mon 11/2 and Tues 11/3; we will then transition to Bulk leaf collection only.
Please DO NOT rake or blow leaves into the street! Leaves and yard debris in the roadway block storm drains, cover legal parking spaces, create drainage issues, and pose safety concerns for motorists and pedestrians.
All leaves, branches, and yard debris must be piled neatly within the Village right-of-way — next to the curb — NOT in the roadway. Do not place leaves directly against telephone poles, signs or the base of trees. Incorrectly placed piles will be skipped until they are moved to an accessible location.
The Village does not collect debris resulting from privately contracted yard cleanup work. Any yard debris generated by a hired contractor or commercial landscaping service must be hauled away by that service.
Note: [Schoen Place](/humor/she-went-to-schoen-place-for-a-quick-walk-came-home-three-hours-later-having-com) drinking fountains will be turned off Monday, November 2nd.
Village Hall Closed November 4, 10 AM – 3 PM
Village Hall offices will temporarily close for our annual staff training from 10:00 AM to 3:00 PM on Wednesday, November 4, 2026.
During this time, in-person services will be unavailable; however, phone calls, voicemails, and emails will be checked, and we will try to respond as promptly as possible.
Regular office services will resume at 3:00 PM with normal closing at 4:00 PM.
We appreciate your patience and understanding as our staff takes this opportunity for continued training and professional development to better serve our Village.
