  • The next scheduled meeting is a workshop on July 28, 2026, subject to change

The Village of Pittsford Board of Trustees held a special meeting at Village Hall on Wednesday, July 22, with two items before it: setting a future public hearing for a special permit application at 50 State Street, and holding a public hearing on a short-term retail permit for 36 Main Street. Both concern how the village uses its own storefronts and sidewalks — small decisions individually, and collectively the thing that determines what it feels like to walk down Main Street.

Below are the agenda and the public hearing notice as filed. Minutes have not yet been posted, so this is the record of what was before the Board, not what it decided.

50 State Street — A Hearing Still to Be Set

The first meeting item was procedural: the Board was asked to set a public hearing on a special permit application for 50 State Street, not to consider the application itself. The hearing date does not appear in the July 22 packet, and no application materials for 50 State Street were included in it.

That means the substance of this one is still ahead. When the hearing is scheduled, the notice will be published and the application will be available for inspection at the Village Clerk's office.

A cookie cart on Main Street is a small thing. It is also exactly the kind of small thing that decides whether a village is a place people linger or a place people drive through. When the 50 State Street hearing is set, that's a chance to say what you want this street to be — and the room is rarely full.
